If you’re going to move into gorilla territory, you need to know how to handle gorillas.
This fresh-faced white kid was completely out of his depth in that urban jungle.
A 23-year-old man on the run from police in connection with the fatal beating of a 24-year-old motorist following a car crash earlier this week was charged Friday with the crime.
Lawrence James Davis of Detroit was charged Friday in connection with the fatal beating of 24-year-old Tyler Jordan Wingate. Davis is charged with open murder.
Wingate, who had recently moved to Detroit, was fatally beaten early Monday morning following the crash at Livernois and West Davison in Detroit.
Police Chief James Craig and investigators allege that after the collision with a dark blue 2007 Chevrolet Impala at about 1:50 a.m. Monday on the 13500 block of Livernois, Wingate exited his 2011 Buick Regal then was beaten by Davis.
Wingate was struck in the head and fell and was repeatedly struck and kicked. The suspect fled the scene with several others on foot.
Police received a call about a possible shooting in the area, and once officers arrived, they found Wingate lying on the ground unresponsive in the parking lot of the gas station. Two vehicles with damage were found nearby.
Wingate was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation has led to the identification of Davis as the one who beat Wingate, according to the prosecutor’s office.
