LaDerrick Monquell McCray.
Remember kids; when a Black offers to sell you something, it’s either drugs, he wants to rob you, or plans to rape you.
Possibly all three.
A man who pretended to be a magazine salesman to gain access to three homes and commit sex crimes against three women was sentenced Tuesday to more than 10 years in prison.
LaDerrick Monquell McCray, 22, of Gulfport, Mississippi, pleaded guilty April 25 to four counts in the case, in which he used the ruse to enter the homes during a four-day period in August 2016. The original indictment included 12 charges, with McCray admitting to two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, rape in the first degree, and sexual abuse in the third degree.
Benton County Circuit Court Judge David Connell called it “one of the most grievous cases” he has seen in his 14 years on the bench. One victim read a statement, and Amie Matusko, Benton County senior deputy district attorney, read a statement from a second victim. The third victim chose not to make statement.
