Wait, I thought multiculturalism meant every race aligning to crush whites?
In riots that have hit South Africa’s Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provinces, thousands of businesses owned by members of the Indian community have been looted and destroyed and an unknown number of Indian-origin people are said to have been killed.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, meanwhile, on Friday said the violence was “planned”.
The unrest started off as a protest after former president Jacob Zuma was found guilty of contempt of court and jailed last week. The demonstrations soon turned violent against Indian-origin people.
Tensions have been running high after groups, many of them armed, in mainly Indian suburbs across the country and especially in the port city of Durban, began mobilising. They aimed at warding off attacks and looting, which has seen many Indian-owned businesses and factories razed to the ground by looters and arsonists. Indian-origin people, meanwhile, have now raised their guard to defend themselves and their businesses.
This attack on Indians by the blacks has not shaken my faith in multiculturalism – far from it. My faith is stronger than ever before.
However, it does remind me that we need to remind colored people that the whites are the true enemy of all races, and that when they fight amongst themselves, they are simply letting whites win.
We need to use government money to put up signs that say “remember, whites are the enemy!”
