Now there’s a well-fed specimen.
I’m surprised he didn’t try to steal the actual pizza instead.
A man has been arrested on murder charges in the shooting death of a Domino’s pizza delivery driver in Sioux Falls.
Jahennessy Deunique LaPaul Bryant, 21, from Sioux Falls, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in eastern Sioux Falls on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and manslaughter, police say.
Casey Paul Bonhorst, 30, was shot to death around 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the 2800 block of East Bragstad Drive just south of 26th Street near Cleveland Avenue.
Bonhorst had just delivered a pizza to a residence on the street at about 8:41 p.m. After the delivery was made, Bryant allegedly tried to rob him, according to a news release from police. Two minutes later, a caller reported to police that a man was lying in the road. He died at the scene.
Witnesses told police they saw and heard a man run from the scene. Police offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Police found Bryant near 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. A warrant was issued for his arrest, carrying a $500,000 cash only bond.
A portion of 26th Street was shut down between Sycamore and Bahnson Avenues as they arrested Bryant.
Jenifer Stewart, 47, was a neighbor in the apartment complex where police arrested Bryant. Stewart’s niece told her that multiple people were escorted by police outside of the building this afternoon. Stewart said she’d never met Bryant before.
“You can’t walk outside without being scared,” Stewart said. “There’s been too many killings this last year. It’s too much.”
She didn’t know he was staying in her neighbor’s apartment.
