In the wake of the Capitol Storm, a bunch of morons think they can save their careers.
All of these Republican Congresscritters are disavowing and so on.
Cabinet members have begun to resign.
First Mitch McConnell’s gook wife resigned. Frankly, Mitch McConnell’s gook wife shouldn’t have been working in the Trump Administration anyway, because not only is that nepotism, but she is a Taiwanese spy.
Now this other stupid woman has resigned.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos submitted her resignation in a letter to President Trump on Thursday, saying she would step down the next day over the rampage at the Capitol by his supporters.
Ms. DeVos joins a growing exodus of administration officials in the final days of the Trump administration. She is the second cabinet-level official to step down; Elaine Chao, the transportation secretary, also resigned on Thursday.
“We should be highlighting and celebrating your administration’s many accomplishments on behalf of the American people,” Ms. DeVos wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The New York Times. “Instead, we are left to clean up the mess caused by violent protesters overrunning the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to undermine the people’s business.”
“That behavior was unconscionable for our country,” she added. “There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me.”
Ms. DeVos was one of the first cabinet secretaries to condemn the violent mob on Capitol Hill.
“The peaceful transfer of power is what separates American representative democracy from banana republics,” Ms. DeVos said in a statement posted to Twitter on Wednesday evening, hours after the storming of the Capitol. “The work of the people must go on.”
It’s not the “peaceful transfer of power” that separates us from “banana republics.” Most third world countries have a peaceful transfer of power, or they don’t have a transfer of power at all.
I don’t know what separates us from third world countries, other than the fact that we used to have more money, because we were white. Maybe the system was more honest, a hundred years ago or something, but I don’t think it’s recently been more honest.
Anyway, “yeah but we shouldn’t be like a third world country tho” is not an argument for anything, for many different reasons, but perhaps primarily because most third world countries are much more stable than we are, and people in third world countries are certainly living more fulfilling lives.
The problem here is that the election was a fraud. It was an absolutely ridiculous fraud. There is no more “law and order” after that fraud. The term has no more meaning.
Talking about “law and order” at this point is like if a man is raping a woman and the woman bites him and he says “hey – be peaceful because that’s our values.”
The American government is utterly illegitimate now, and anything that happens after this election hoax is just what you get when you decide that you’re going to eliminate faith in the system through this kind of action.
