Teresa Longo knew her murderer and also probably knew he had been beating up his girlfriend.

An Omaha man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Teresa Longo.

Reginald Briggs, 31, was charged in a warrant Wednesday with first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, pandering and two counts of felony domestic violence assault in connection with an alleged assault on another woman, his 31-year-old girlfriend.

Briggs and Longo knew each other, Omaha Police Capt. Kerry Neumann said.

“She’s the victim of a very brutal murder,” he said.

Briggs was released from a Nebraska prison in February. In 2012, he was sentenced to three to six years for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Reginald Briggs has been in and out of prison for the last 5 years at least.

In 2010, Briggs was sentenced to one year in prison for two counts of third-degree domestic assault and driving with a revoked license.
