Calling the current system “capitalism” is actually retarded, and ever even using the word “capitalism” is cringe and gay (whichever side of the political spectrum you’re on).
But hey – she got the “dystopian nightmare” part right.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday criticized certain Democrats for failing to support progressive demands for a $15 minimum wage, contending they are living in a “dystopian capitalist nightmare” and adding that the minimum wage should actually be $24 an hour.
The New York lawmaker defended the progressive push for a $15 minimum wage during an appearance on The Mehdi Hasan Show.
“Any person who thinks that a $15 minimum wage is the ‘crazy socialist agenda’ is living in a dystopian capitalist nightmare. And we should not prop that up. We should not continue that,” she said.
“There are basic goods that people can’t afford to live on on $7.25 an hour, she continued, arguing that it is “deeply, deeply shameful” that they are having this conversation in the first place.
“Because when you take the minimum wage from several decades ago and you actually account for inflation and productivity gains to today, it should be $24 an hour,” she continued.
Democrats, she said, must understand “how deep of a compromise $15 an hour is,” noting the multi-year phase-in.
“In the United States of America, you should you know if you are working a full-time job, you should be able to afford to live,” she continued:

Nearly two dozen Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez, are calling on President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to demand the addition of a $15 minimum wage in the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief proposal despite the fact that the Senate parliamentarian ruled out the option last week.
In a letter addressed to Biden and Harris, the lawmakers essentially asked the White House to override the decision.
“Eighty-one million people cast their ballots to elect you on a platform that called for a $15 minimum wage,” the lawmakers wrote in the March 1 letter.
“We urge you to keep that promise and call on the Presiding Officer of the Senate to refute the Senate Parliamentarian’s advice on a Byrd Rule point of order and maintain the $15 minimum wage provision in the American Rescue Plan,” they continued.
Hasan failed to ask the key question on everyone’s mind: why doesn’t she have an OnlyFans?
It’s obviously a rhetorical question: this is her version of OnlyFans. It is the exact same thing for her to get paid to go on TV and talk about “capitalism” as it is for a woman to put dildo pics on the internet. She is acquiring resources by bringing attention on herself.
(Before women entered the workplace, old people would call hookers “working girls.” The implication was that the only form of work a woman would be doing is prostitution.)
People make fun of AOC for being stupid. But frankly, she’s just a woman. She’s not the one coming up with these talking points, just like she wasn’t the one coming up with the talking points she ran on. If you didn’t know, her talking points are completely different now. But she is not thinking of this stuff herself.
Basically, any situation where you would have to have a minimum wage, you have a systemic failure that needs to be fixed somewhere other than via a government-mandated minimum wage. Everyone knows that the minimum wage is a joke concept, everyone knows that the way this system is currently designed, a $15 minimum wage would cause massive suffering and solve exactly zero problems.
Although all small businesses were destroyed by the coronavirus hoax, so who even cares at this point? Are poor people even working?
Do you know why she’s promoting a $15 minimum wage? Do you know who’s behind it?
As a rule, whenever anyone asks “do you know who’s behind it,” you’ve got a 33% chance of being right just by guessing:
- The Jews
- Bill Gates
- Jeff Bezos
In this case, it’s number 3.
For the past few years, Amazon has increasingly pushed data-driven quotas and warehouse and delivery efficiencies that workers say are dangerous and inhumane, while at the same time actively lobbying Congress to increase the federal minimum wage to $15.
In fact, Amazon is one of the few major employers in the U.S. that already pays its employees $15 an hour. Amazon has been lobbying in support of a $15 minimum wage for years, but has redoubled its efforts in early 2021: It’s advertising on podcasts, tweeting videos with workers, and publishing full-page newspaper ads saying that “It’s time to raise the federal minimum wage. Actually, it’s past time.”
You can go read the leftist explanation of why Amazon is lobbying for this, but leftism is so influenced by Bezos, as we see with AOC lobbying for him, that it’s not really helpful to look at the leftist explanation of anything.
Anyway, the answer is obvious: forcing small businesses to pay the same wage Amazon already pays destroys small businesses.
In a more complex way, it makes the “progressives” that AOC leads feel like they’ve accomplished something, and ensures they won’t come after the biggest companies in the world and make them give back all this money they’ve stolen.
Not that there was really any risk of that anyway.
No one on the left is ever going to point to the fact that our economy and our entire society is now dominated by these tech companies. Because they are dominated by these tech companies.
Breitbart won’t say it either.
Just to make sure I didn’t somehow miss it, I ctrl+f’d “Bezos” and “Amazon.”
What’s that? A mention of Amazon???
That would be a commenter talking about how Amazon gives people jobs.
People are just Borgs to this media, and these political leaders, and they will never look at what is right in front of them.
Politics are just so stupid and fake. It’s all so tiresome.
